My neighbour is blocking my access, what can I do?

Unfortunately, we don’t all live in a community like the popular television soap Neighbours. The sad reality is that neighbours are not always ‘good friends’ and disputes arise. In most cases, speaking to your neighbour about an issue is the best way to solve a problem. However, if talking has not achieved anything or you can’t discuss the issue with your neighbour, then we can try and help you.

The most common disputes relate to:

  • Noise, such as loud music and barking dogs
  • Parking
  • Property boundaries
  • Overgrowing trees and hedges
  • Rights of way
  • Covenants

Quite often they can cause lasting damage to your neighbour relationship if not resolved in an amicable manner.  Not to mention the expensive legal costs that can be incurred over the matter. You may have seen recently in the media of a fence dispute and legal costs were disproportionate to the issues at hand. As such, we try and assist you in resolving the dispute as amicably as possible in order for you to try and live in a harmoniously community.

If you would like advice on any neighbour related issue, please do not hesitate to contact Dispute Resolution Solicitor, Laura Colebrook, by telephoning 0118 975 6622 who will be happy to have an initial conversation with you.
