We believe one of the keys to giving our clients a personal service tailored to their needs is getting to know who they are. So, we’ve turned the tables by asking each member of our staff three questions, so you get to know them. Meet Sareena Anwar, a trainee solicitor who is currently working in our Wills, Trusts & Estate Administration team, based in our Lower Earley, Reading office.
What is solicitor training like?
I love the variety, and I find it quite exciting as every day is different. I attend client meetings, which is great because I can observe how different solicitors adapt their styles to each client and the nature of the discussions. I get to draft documents and attendance notes, and the fee earners I am assigned to are really good at explaining why they want me to do something, so I can put what I am learning into context. I’ve also been able to get out of the office for home visits to see clients and conduct probate inventories, so literally it’s a real mix of experience.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Everything happens for a reason. I really believe that even bad things can eventually lead to something positive. I always try not to give up hope or become disenchanted if things don’t go to plan, but stay focused on my goals. Thankfully, even with life’s ups and downs, it has always seemed to work out in the end!
How do you switch off?
I like to get creative across a range of mediums. I enjoy drawing and doing arts and crafts, particularly scrapbooking my travel adventures abroad. I also like baking and hiking – the hiking is to walk off the calories from the baking!
