Her expertise is recognised by THP Solicitor’s membership of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP), and Karen acts on behalf of both Landlords and Tenants during statutory and non-statutory lease extensions and enfranchisement matters.
Karen advises individual leaseholders but is also regularly contacted by groups of leaseholders requesting collective representation in enfranchisement matters, or by those wishing to be represented by the same solicitor in their individual leasehold negotiations, as this can speed up the process. She enjoys helping leaseholders understand this complex area of law as many leaseholders only have to delve into it when faced with the prospect of their lease term being low; they wish to own the freehold; or control the management of their properties.
Karen is also pleased to have many landlord clients return to her with their lease extensions, entrusting her to progress the matters quickly and efficiently.
As well as enfranchisement, Karen has many years of experience in dealing with commercial property transactions acting for landlords or tenants in granting or taking commercial leases, selling and purchasing commercial units and dealing with a range of local businesses to help them through these transactions.
