Donna has experience within local government, specifically contributing to a major regeneration project, and working on institutional and educational property in large firms. She enjoys working with all her clients on a professional, but personal basis to ensure that the transaction runs as smoothly as possible.

Donna began her legal training by qualifying as a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) in 2014. Donna completed her Legal Practise Course at De Montfort University in 2016, so now has dual qualification as both a fellow of FCILEx and a solicitor. What do you think is biggest misconception about property law?
That is repetitive or boring. You couldn’t be further from the truth. I love the variety in my work, from the range of different clients to the diverse types of property transactions. I get involved in sales, purchases, leases, development agreements, refinancing – the list is endless. I particularly like adverse possession as it satisfies the inner detective in me. My interaction with other solicitors, surveyors and agents, as well as clients, also keeps the job interesting
What is key to maintaining lasting client relationships?
Listening to and understanding your clients. It sounds simple, but you need to put the effort in to make a genuine connection. You can’t use the same terminology when speaking to an experienced surveyor as you might a landowner who is selling a plot of land for the first time. You need to set aside any assumptions, understand what the client really wants, and adapt your work style to the person you are dealing with. It helps build trust, making it easier for both of you to work through a transaction together.
I have many long-term clients, and my relationships with them are based on mutual respect and understanding – I know what they need, and they trust me to provide it.
